The cost of food is rising dramatically all over the world. There are many factors contributing to this, but the largest is the sharp current growth rate of the developing world. Hundreds of millions of people are gaining access to a better diet, meaning there has suddenly become a much greater demand for food. This spells out great news for farmers, but bad news for consumers.
