Concern in Europe on Cellphone Ads for Children

about "Concern in Europe on Cellphone Ads for Children”- New York Times

Various organizations throughout Europe have recently demonstrated much concern over the growing numbers of cellphone advertisements directed at children. Some companies are producing phones such as the MO1, which are designed entirely for young children. Children are an attractive demographic for phone companies because they tend to treat their phones more like companions as they would a teddy bear rather than as a device with the purpose of placing calls. Phone companies have the official stance that no known harm will come to children through cellphone use, but parent groups and health organizations believe that more research is necessary. Many are even asking whether children should even be allowed to have cellphones.
