"The 2000 Census counted 3.1 million interracial couples, or about 6 percent of married couples." Also, there are 7.3 million, 3 percent of Americans identifying themselves as mixed descent. However, people still tend to consider themselves as a member of one significant group, which treat them better than the other. For the question "which part of him was dominant", James McBride answered, “It’s like grabbing Jell-O.” This describes that mixed race are very difficult and complicated topic.
